Tonight (Wednesday) we are off for 5 days in the UK for the Invocation festival where Frank Dorittke and me will participate in the history of Suffolk. It is a Folk/Ambient/Electronic/Poetry day in the old church in Bungay.  So if you want something special in history, live music and folktales, come and join us. It is going to be special!! (Nederlands, Duits en Engels) And then in 2 weeks we have E-Live 2024. Somehow this year the ticket sales are much less then last years or even the ticket sales of E-Day 2024! Why? I have no idea, perhaps all are on holiday or the program is not that appealing. Still we will go ahead and make it a great day for our scene. Special travel help!! For those who are coming by Train we have set up a shuttle from Best (Train station) to the hall in Oirschot. So if you would like to make use of this just mail me ron@groove.nl and Dylan will pick you up and bring you back to the train s tation during the festival hours. And if you are looking for a ride or can take people with you from a certain area just let me know so I can bring you in contact with each other. I understand Oirschot is not as easy to reach as Eindhoven but that should not keep over 80 people home 🙂 (Dutch translation of the above) En dan hebben we over 2 weken E-Live 2024. Op de een of andere manier is de kaartverkoop dit jaar veel minder dan voorgaande jaren of zelfs de kaartverkoop van E-Day 2024! Waarom? Ik heb geen idee, misschien zijn ze allemaal op vakantie of is het programma niet zo aantrekkelijk. Toch gaan we door en maken we er voor onze scene een geweldige dag van. Er zijn dus nog meer dan genoeg tickets en als je er gewoon bij wilt zijn op deze geweldige EM-dag. Reishulp voor E-Live!! Voor degenen die met de Trein komen hebben wij een shuttle geregeld van Best (Treinstation) naar de hal in Oirschot. Dus als je hier gebruik van wilt maken, mail me dan even ron@groove.nl en Dylan haalt je op en brengt je tijdens de festivaluren terug naar het treinstation. En als u op zoek bent naar een ritje of mensen mee wilt nemen uit een bepaald gebied, laat het mij dan weten, zodat ik u met elkaar in contact kan brengen. Ulises Labaronnie who hails from Buenos Aires in Argentina has been active in the experimental electronic music scene since the mid-90s and has recorded numerous albums both as a soloist and with his projects triØN, Ensemble Circular as well as Sophos. He has many other musical threads in his life including music and sound design for film which showcases his great love for nature and the wild landscapes around him. Sending Signals (DiN88) is inspired by the work of renowned British astrophysicist Sir Roger Penrose, in particular the concept that advanced civilisations could leave markers or signals for the next cycle or rebirth of the universe. Indeed his music has its origins in the Berlin School and space music genres but he takes it far beyond their limits with the introduction of intricate rhythms and modern digital textures to produce a sound all his own. Over the course of nine tracks the music gently meanders through a series of tone poems incorporating Vangelis like lead lines, ostinato sequencer patterns and lush chordal pads. At other times more glitchy textures are introduced as well as field recordings and IDM style drum patterns. This all adds up to a totally unique album that crosses the boundaries of musical genres which is something DiN has always encouraged.
