We had a great time and although there could have been more people on the day we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Some fantastic performances where held on the day!! And to be honest Frank Dorittke and me Rocked the church!! So, for those who missed the recent Invocations event at St Mary’s Church in Bungay, here is a short video giving the tiniest glimpse of what you missed! The afternoon show of Folk Music and Stories based on local folklore was beautiful. Finished the new solo album ‘All That Is Left Behind’ a month ago (to be released in 2025) and the collaboration with Ruud Heij is on a summer break. So, to havesomething to do on making music I decided to listen to the old 1999 album Elektra with the aim to play and record the track Elektra – part one. Just for fun. I found out that there were no kept DAW audio-files or projects from Elektra anymore, so it was a matter of listening to the music, trying to find out what was exactly played and then try to play it onsynths again. Since I found out it was a lot of fun to do, I went on with the next Elektra track, which was a bit harder to do, since it is more than half an hour of music. Within a month, the entire album was finished, recorded and mixed. Next thing I tried to do was making a new piece of music in the Elektra style. Over the years, my style has become more symphonic and melancholic, Elektra being more dynamic and rhythmic, so it was quite achallenge. Why Elektra? Elektra was my first attempt to make electronic music (after an EM break for 15 years, focusing more on fusion and progrock). I was looking for a style of music that was a kind of retro electronic music, close to Berlin School. I didn’t find it with Elektra, but two albums later, with Wanderer of Time. My set-up at that time was very limited, with the instruments I had then I couldn’t exactly produce what I wanted. Which resulted in the fact not to be satisfied with the outcome and after the release I’ve never listened to the music anymore. So the idea was actually: how would Elektra sound if I had played and recorded it now (2023 that is). At some point I started to realize that in 2024 it would be 25 years ago since Elektra was released, which led to the idea of releasing this version as a 25th anniversary edition. The original Elektra was never released on cd, but on cdr. So in a way you have the chance to have it on cd now. Hope you’ll enjoy it!! (Nederlands, Duits en Engels) Next week we have E-Live 2024. Somehow this year the ticket sales are less then last years or even the ticketsales of E-Day 2024! Why? I have no idea, perhaps all are on holiday or the programm is not that appealing. Still we will go ahead and make it a great day for our scene. Special travel help!! For those who are comming by Train we have set up a shuttle from Best (Train station) to the hall in Oirschot. So if you would like to make use of this just mail me ron@groove.nl and Dylan will pick you up and bring you back to the trainstaion during the festival hours. And if you are looking for a ride or can take peopele with you from a certain area just let me know so I can bring you in contact with each other. I understand Oirschot is not as easy to reach as Eindhoven but that should not keep over 80 people home  (Dutch translation of the above) Reishulp voor E-Live!! Voor degenen die met de Trein komen hebben wij een shuttle geregeld van Best (Treinstation) naar de hal in Oirschot. Dus als je hier gebruik van wilt maken, mail me dan even ron@groove.nl en Dylan haalt je op en brengt je tijdens de festivaluren terug naar het treinstation. En als u op zoek bent naar een ritje of mensen mee wilt nemen uit een bepaald gebied, laat het mij dan weten, zodat ik u met elkaar in contact kan brengen. Ik begrijp dat Oirschot niet zo makkelijk te bereiken is als Eindhoven maar dat moet de ruim 80 mensen niet thuishouden (German translation) Nachste woche haben wir E-Live 2024. Irgendwie sind die Ticketverkäufe dieses Jahr geringer als in den letzten Jahren oder sogar als die Tickets für den E-Day 2024! Warum? Keine Ahnung, vielleicht sind alle im Urlaub oder das Programm ist nicht so ansprechend. Dennoch werden wir weitermachen und es zu einem großartigen Tag für unsere Szene machen. Es gibt also noch mehr als genug Tickets und bitte, wenn Sie an diesem großartigen EM-Tag dabei sein möchten. Reise hilfe fur E-Live!! Für diejenigen, die mit der Bahn anreisen, haben wir einen Shuttle von Best (Bahnhof) zur Halle in Oirschot eingerichtet. Wenn Sie also davon Gebrauch machen möchten, schreiben Sie mir einfach eine E-Mail an ron@groove.nl und Dylan holt Sie während der Festivalzeiten ab und bringt Sie zurück zum Bahnhof. Und wenn Sie eine Mitfahrgelegenheit suchen oder Leute aus einer bestimmten Gegend mitnehmen können, lassen Sie es mich einfach wissen, damit ich Sie miteinander in Kontakt bringen kann. Ich verstehe, dass Oirschot nicht so leicht zu erreichen ist wie Eindhoven, aber das sollte nicht über 80 Leute zu Hause halten |
