Spyra’s new album TAU is part three of the CD trilogy STAUB – DUNST – TAU, which has already found critical acclaim for bringing new impulses for the ancient art of Berlin School Sequenzermusik.

While STAUB was severely reduced to the maxim of minimalist sequences, recorded as one shot studio sessions without any overdubs, DUNST welcomed the listener with a more lush arrangement of analogue sound-spheres, combined with deep drones and slow beats! – In the third part TAU, Spyra allows himself again to partly spoil his audiences’ ears with sparkling sequences in the style of “Crystal lake”, but reinterpreted in his own unique manner. Lush Synthesizer strings, cosmic noises go hand in hand with inspYring Synth solos, not denying the underlying principle, that the flow of such music cannot be fully composed, but must develop within the inherent process of playing it !

Spyra is well-known for consistently refining and cultivating his own distinctive approach on classic electronic music. His philosophy on creating music is best summarized in the following statement:

“To craft your own sonic garden, don’t try to play God. Instead, think of yourself as a gardener. Sow your seeds in the right places, nurture and water your saplings, watch them grow, and occasionally prune a branch or remove unwanted weeds. Developing self-discipline is essential to becoming a skilled composer of electronic music.”

If you appreciate electronic music from the 70s and are willing to accept that time has moved onward since then, you might quite likely feel attracted to Spyra’s newest album TAU, which offers a similar flow, but at the same time an elegant, cool and modern approach hardly to be found anywhere else on this Planet.

Concert of Ian Boddy • Ron Boots • Harold van der Heijden – Phase 3 1997
This will put you in the mood for E-Day 2025!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2tqRP7kKeQ&t=3807s

In the nineties of the previous century two of my friends and I recorded some of the concerts of Ron Boots and his fellow artists. As the Phase 3 concert on the 28th of March 2020 in Bochum has been cancelled, I got the idea to share the video recording we made in 1997 of Ian Boddy, Ron Boots and Harold van der Heijden.

Ron Boots – Ambient Music

MORE (Music Of Ron & Eric)  – Sound Of Future

On the 13th of February 1993 Ron played with Eric van der Heijden, Harold van der Heijden, John Kerr, Ad van Gerven and Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock at ‘Zaal Unitas’ in Eindhoven under the title ‘Sound Of Future’.

Syndrone – Being There live 1993

And another concert from the nineties. Due to technical limitations the image quality and the position of the camera is not great.
This time it is the concert of Syndrone (Harold Teunissen and André Theelen) promoting their first CD “Being There”. They were the supporting act for MORE and the “Sound Of Future” concert

Thanks for your time
