Through the effective use of their original sonic vocabulary and turbulent presentation on Dimensions, Wave World has created a three dimensional, cerebral listening experience.
Strange timbres, de tuned swells and random melodic figures demand the listener’s attention through the endlessly shifting collage of sound while an overwhelming atmosphere of otherworldliness supplies the album length composition with form in space and time. But it’s not all pads, sweeps, bleeps and effects. Out of the mysterious aural manifestations rise warm synth melodies over curious electronic rhythms. These friendly interludes offer a well placed respite from Wave World‘s aural alien abstraction which is continually falling away and folding back in on itself.
With the convoluted contour of this album, the listener’s attention never rests. We are completely present with full awareness during this deep sonic journey.
